The HPCC is up. The installation process went smoothly with the guys from Cluster Vision being in charge of installing the hardware and the Bright Cluster Management Software, which by the way is great. It took approximately 2 weeks for the complete installation, both hardware and software and finally we have got a nice machine:
-1344 computing cores at 2.0 GHz (28 compute nodes (Dell R 815 with 48 cores each (4x12))
-Memory : 5 nodes x 128 GB + 23 nodes x 96 GB; Total: 2.9 TB RAM.
- interconnect QDR (40 Gb/sec) for MPI traffic, Gb for management and booting
- storage 40 TB Panasas (scales up to 4 PB)
- two master/login nodes in failover setting
- Management software: Bright Cluster Management 5.2
- Operating system: CentOS 6.0 (Final)
- compilers: gcc, intel, pgi
- cooling: 2 x 25 kW Liebert units
